Reviews and Ratings
The hotel is a great find with clean, spacious rooms and lovely facilities. Dining was satisfactory, but a bit pricey for the offerings.
I was impressed with the fantastic view of Mt Tauhara from the Historical Part of the Hilton. The rooms had air conditioning and quick internet, but I was disappointed as my ground floor room only offered a tiny view of the lake from the courtyard.
Staying in the Historical Part of the Hilton was a mixed experience. The rooms were spacious with brilliant lake views and convenient amenities, but the service was lacking at times and the location was not as private as expected for the price in Taupo.
The hotel felt like a home away from home with all the gadgets I needed, but unfortunately, my room was falsely advertised as having a main lake view. Instead, I had to go out into the courtyard to catch a glimpse of the lake from the ground floor. The service was lovely overall, but there was an unexpected additional charge for choosing a different coffee type. The location was relaxing and handy, although a bit distant from downtown. The dining experience was nice, but I had hoped for something more special from a 5-star hotel.
The hotel offers well-appointed rooms with very clean and spacious accommodations. The large balcony provides excellent views of the lake. The staff service is top-notch, and the grounds are tidy. The outside pool is heated nicely. However, being on the ground floor, my garden view was somewhat obscured by the landscape, offering only a peek of the lake.
The hotel is conveniently located on top of a hill with magnificent views of Lake Taupo. The rooms were spacious and clean, but lacked a coffee machine. The service provided by the friendly and helpful staff was professional. The dining experience was outstanding with delicious options, although some breakfast items were unavailable. The facilities were well-maintained and enjoyable.
The hotel had beautifully appointed rooms with sweeping views over the lake, but was very overpriced for what we considered a basic room. The service was a mix of friendly and helpful staff but also slow at reception, allowing unsupervised children to disturb other guests. The location, while lovely to walk through, was too noisy after 10 pm. The dining experience was good overall, with some lapses in service. The facilities were decent but not exceptional.
